At Moose vs. Hunger, with our exclusive collection of 10,000 unique and algorithmically generated collectable NFTs, we are on a mission to fight hunger around the world. Over 800 million people around the world go to bed hungry each night, and an estimated 1 in 8 Americans face food insecurity, lacking consistent access to sufficient food for an active and healthy life.

Moose vs. Hunger aims to improve food security across all corners of the globe. 25% of all NFT sales will be allocated to organisations and efforts focused on improving food security and providing nutrition to communities and families in need. We will strive to empower community influence over the allocation of community wallet funds. Our goal is to maximize community resources to provide food assistance to underprivileged communities and families in need. Our Moose NFTs provide utility that will continue to generating funds towards food security, as well as providing fun and valuable perks to our holders. Moose vs. Hunger will develop a robust gaming ecosystem with a boxing simulator tournament.

I am Josh (Brastion), one of the founders of Moose vs. Hunger. I have been investing in crypto for a few years and first began my NFT journey by acquiring GCG #1706 on the suggestion of a family member. I have since collected many different projects and stay active in many crypto and NFT- based communities. For me, fighting hunger is very personal. A few years ago, I started to suffer from serious stomach issues. At one point, for a few months, I was literally starving to death while food sat in front of me untouched. I would try to take a small bite, but my mouth would dry up and anything I tried to eat would taste like sand. After 2 years with no answers, I was finally diagnosed with Gastroparesis. That means my stomach is slow to empty, causing a host of issues including chronic daily pain. While my hunger was health related, the thought of millions of people facing hunger every single day horrified me. I want to do what I can to alleviate hunger and food security issues around the world.

WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. TOGETHER WE WILL #KOHUNGER.

My brother Zach (Scuffed), the other founder of Moose vs. Hunger, saw everything I went through and had the idea to start an NFT community based around giving back; a community that showed the world that crypto and NFTs are not just for scammers and thieves. NFTs are about the community and the connections that people build through them. Zach saw the sheer power of what an amazing community can do behind a great project. Inside the Gutter Cat Gang community, he saw how members could support each other without ever being in the same room, how people can come together to bring about change. We want to use our community to help improve food security around the world.

WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE. TOGETHER WE WILL #KOHUNGER.

Gaming

The founders of Moose vs. Hunger are gamers at heart and believe that the NFT gaming space is just beginning to show its true potential. The Moose vs. Hunger team is dedicated to raising the bar on community driven games and ecosystems with the development of our Boxing Tournaments and Seasons. Kicking off this effort, Moose vs. Hunger has already developed an initial version of a boxing simulator that will be ready for our first inaugural tournament, one week after the initial mint date. While this will be our first version, we will update this simulator continually, improving and adding to the Moose vs. Hunger Gaming Ecosystem. All the boxing tournaments will feature prizes in NFTs, ETH, and/or other crypto assets/perks purchased through a community wallet, a budget created from a percentage of all sales for these types of prizes.

Inaugural Public Tournament (v 1.0)

we will be having an inaugural tournament one week after our mint. Every unique address will have one Moose selected from their wallet that will be entered into the tournament. All founders will have their wallets specifically excluded from entry.

Public Tournaments will be single elimination bracket style, similar to NCAA basketball. The Moose will be randomly divided into Divisions and each division will have subdivisions within. The amount of divisions will vary depending on the amount of Moose entered into the tournament.

Public Tournament Matches will be decided on dice rolls. The amount of rounds the match lasts will be randomly assigned. Each Moose will have the same amount of rolls each round which will count as their ‘Damage’ for the round. Additionally, there will be a die roll for the chance of a knockout. The Moose that does the most ‘Damage’ wins the round. The Moose that wins the most rounds or knocks out their opponent wins the Match and progresses in the bracket.

Public Tournaments are expected to last between one to two weeks, as there will only be one to two rounds of the tournament per day. This will allow time for people to check the status of their Moose and make game-time decisions on selling or buying. We are anticipating taking a snapshot five to ten minutes after the Round has been finished. Therefore, it will be important to watch for match times and be on high-alert, as the closer we get to crowning the Champion, the higher the likelihood that your Moose will get sniped if it is listed. This would serve as a way for even the lowest ranked Moose to flip the script and become highly sought after.

Private Tournaments/ Seasons (v 2.0)

To provide further utility and an ever-evolving game structure, we will be hosting a plethora of private tournaments and seasons as time goes on. For these events, the outcomes will not solely be based on dice rolls. There will be many factors that go into these matches. For Starters, each Moose’s individual attributes will be taken into account.

Attributes - On-Chain

Power: Damage Modifier. Levels Range from 5-20

Endurance: Reduces the effects of exhaustion play on the Moose. Levels Range from 5-20

Agility: Increases the likelihood the Moose can avoid a strike. Levels Range from 5-20

Determination: Modifies the Knockout chances. Levels Range from 5-20

Luck: Increases/decreases the likelihood of conditions, conditions are random events that can increase or decrease a stat and/or offer utility such as a Get Out of KO Free Card Levels Range from 5-20

There will be some unknown attributes and some attributes to be added as the game evolves.

In addition to the attributes listed above, there are conditions that can affect Moose.

Conditions - Online

Exhaustion: As a match wears on, the Moose will become more tired and their Power will suffer as a result. Range 0-10.

Eggshell: After being knocked down, there is an increasing likelihood of a Knockout.

Grit: The more rounds a Moose does not suffer a knockdown, the less likely a Knockout will occur.

Inspiration: If the Moose owner has a staked Trainer (see below), possible chance of limited increase in corresponding attribute.

There will be some unknown conditions and some conditions to be added as the game evolves.

Private tournaments will be able to run for varying lengths of time. There is the intention for Moose holders to create their own tournaments, where they can set the buy-in and set the payouts. *Every private non-collection hosted tournament or season will have 20% of the buy-in go directly to the community charity wallet.* Certain partner projects will be able to open up tournaments to only Moose holders that also own their Project. So, in essence, there can be a Gutter Cat holders-only Moose tournament.

Trainers

Every Boxing MooseOR EVERY UNIQUE OWNER gets their own trainer. Trainers will each have a specialized attribute that they focus on: Power, Endurance, Agility, Determination, and even Luck. Additionally, Trainers will have an Ability score measuring how well they teach and the maximum potential benefit.

Trainers will have 3 functions:

  • Stake at the GYM to earn the $BOXER token. Use $BOXER tokens to pay trainers to train your moose.
  • Train your own Moose. No need to pay a trainer, just pay the gym fee and your set.
  • Hire a trainer. Spend your $BOXER to train your Moose’s specific attributes. The amount of $BOXER required will vary by trainer.

BONUS: RETIRE (BURN) YOUR TRAINER AND BURN X AMOUNT OF $BOXER TO RECRUIT A REPLACEMENT TRAINER, ESSENTIALLY A REROLL (the more times they retire, the more stale the knowledge the retiring trainer is imparting, so effectiveness goes down).

*ALL ATTRIBUTE CHANGES ARE TEMPORARY,WILL NOT EFFECT ON-CHAIN DATA BUT WILL BE STORED ONLINE*

Staking

Trainers (while staked) are part-owners of the GYM. While your trainer is staked it is entitled to X% of the gym fees collected. You can collect your $BOXER at any time. When you collect your share, you will be required to pay a 20% maintenance fee (10% of which goes into the community charity wallet). You may unstake your trainer to attempt to keep 90% of your share (10% to the community charity wallet is nonnegotiable). However, if you unstake, there is a chance the other gym owners find out and charge a 45% maintenance fee! (This fee gets split between all the currently staked Trainers!)

We will be working with our legal team to ensure everything associated with the project and $BOXER is legal. Until we get final approval from them, I cannot say much. However, we will ensure that $BOXER is deflationary and there is a burn mechanism.

Training

Once you hire a trainer for your Moose, you will need to stake them for one day. Training sessions take 24 hours and any attributes gained or lost during these sessions are only temporary. You will need to select a staked trainer in order to begin.. Be careful in your selection, as there can be a huge benefit or detriment.

You can select a trainer based on a specific attribute they specialize in and/or their Teaching Ability. The better the Teaching Ability of the Trainer, the harder the training and the more likely that your Moose fails. If your Moose fails their Training, the selected Attribute will suffer a penalty for the rest of the Season. Additionally, it is much harder to train an attribute that is at the high end of the scale.

If the Moose succeeds, the selected attribute will be increased until the end of the current Season. The amount of benefit or penalty will depend on how your Moose performed and the Trainers Ability Score.

Minigames

We will be creating several boxing-themed minigames that will test your reflexes, wit, and strategy. These minigames will enhance your Moose’s stats and will cost $BOXER. The amount of $BOXER needed to train will depend a lot on the trainer you hire and the value the community places on training. The minigames will feature leaderboards, highlighting our top Moose that will come with perks to be announced later in development.

Seasons

Seasons will take place over many weeks and will involve staking a team of Moose. Each holder will need to stake a certain amount of Moose to compete in the Seasons. Each week, you will get to set your lineup once for the Seasons Matches for that week. Your team will battle it out to win $BOXER. Top ranking teams will be able to bring back their hard won $BOXER while all other teams $BOXER will be split between the community charity wallet and community wallet.

Metaverse Plot

he founders own a Sandbox plot in the Metaverse. This plot can evolve into the official Moose gym or boxing arena, offering a spot for our community to hang out in and also train their stats. However, it is only a small plot; if we are to build an empire, we will likely need to purchase a bigger lot. As the boxing game develops, we envision being able to host tournaments in the Metaverse, drawing crowds of other communities to watch or participate in their own tournaments. We can see the Arena lit up to settle the cat battle in an exclusive Gutter Cat Gang vs. Cool Cats tournament. These tournaments will generate funds for our community wallet and will require higher entry fees for non-moose holders.

Food Security Initiatives

While the team at Moose vs. Hunger is passionate about alleviating issues with food security, we are not experts in the field. To bridge this gap, we are partnering with organizations that are already doing great work within the food security space. Pre-launch, we have secured two official partners, No Kid Hungry and Replate, and are working to secure additional partners.

To learn more about the food security space for both ourselves and our members, Moose vs. Hunger is creating a YouTube series where we will interview leaders from several organizations to collectively learn more about food security and understand how our donations will make a difference. Outside of our official partnerships, the community will also have a donation pool where Moose holders can vote on which charities we should donate to. We will make all our allocations public and meet all the Better Business Standards for a donor to confirm that the 25% of all sales goes towards non-profit organizations focused on food security.

Our Partners*

We have two official partners as of November 29, 2021 that are doing incredible work in the food security space, working to enable and provide for programs that feed children across the US as well as tackle the ever growing issue of food waste. Please take a moment to check out our partners and, if inclined, donate to support the great work they are doing.

No Kid Hungry

No Kid Hungry is a national campaign run by Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to solve problems of hunger and poverty in the United States and around the world. No kid should be hungry. No Kid Hungry is working to end childhood hunger by helping launch and improve programs that give all kids the healthy food they need to thrive. The programs supported by No Kid Hungry have enabled communities to provide school lunches and . To learn more about their cause, please visit: https://www.nokidhungry.org/

Replate

Replate is a technology-driven social enterprise that aims to reduce waste by matching businesses, restaurants, hotels and other organizations with surplus food to those in the community facing food insecurity. Replate is the official food rescue technology partner for the Dubai Expo and works with companies like Amazon, Netflix, and Twitter.e. Their work enables them to save food, conserve water, and divert carbon dioxide from the air to support people and the planet. For more information, please visit: https://www.re-plate.org/

Food initiatives

Moose vs. Hunger plans to coordinate with other partners to provide as many of the initiatives below as possible.

Coordinated Food Deliveries: We want to partner with several food shipping companies to deliver trucks full of food on pallets. We are hoping that with the partnerships we build we will be able to effectively have trucks of food delivered to disaster sites and communities in need. Many of our Partners deploy people to assist in hard hit areas but sometimes suffer from food shortages.

Free Food Food Truck: We want to hire people to staff food trucks that will drive to local shelters to serve hot food.

Holiday Donations: We want to provide meals to organizations that ramp up collections during the holidays.

School Lunch: Many children depend on school provided breakfast and lunch because they do not have food at home. These same kids go hungry during the holidays and school breaks when school is not in session. We want to identify and partner with organizations that combat hunger during these times.

Community Charity Pot: If we are able to sell-out 4% will be sent to a multi-sig wallet for the Moose vs. Hunger holders to vote on which charities to donate to and feature.

Self-sufficient farming: You can give a person a fish and they will be fed for a meal, but teach them to fish and they will be fed for a lifetime. We want to find partners to help create self-sufficient farms. This would not only give people a place to live, but also the ability to grow food for themselves.

*The Moose vs. Hunger team will make our best efforts to vet all of our partners and donations prior to sending any money. If we notice or become aware of any claims of wrongdoing or illegitimacy from an organization, then we will do what is in our power to remediate. We ask our community to please speak out if there are any areas of notice we should be aware of for any of our announced donations. We are receptive to our community's voice and want to ensure our money has the best possible reach in the world of food security.

*THIS IS VERSION 1.0. Our lawyers are analyzing this document and will make recommendations as to any changes that need to be made in order to comply with the applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, we will be constantly updating the gaming ecosystem and will amend the Whitepaper as needed.*
